The web planner and the iPhone app are two views of the same account. Both sign in to the same service, show the same plans and get their results from the same calculations, so a plan projects identically on either.

Neither works offline. Every calculation runs on CoastMath’s servers, and an edit you haven’t saved exists only on the screen where you typed it.

  • Your account and plans. Sign in with the same method on both, whether Apple, Google or an email link. A plan saved on one appears on the other after it reloads; on iPhone, pull to refresh. See Sign in and find your plans.
  • Results. Projections, taxes and every figure come from the same service, so the same inputs give the same numbers.
  • Editors and analyses. Both edit every plan section and run every analysis and report.
  • Plan accounts. A plan you create or import has its own accounts. An older web plan whose Accounts section reads Household accounts shares them with your other such plans.
  • Premium. A subscription bought on either platform applies to the account on both. See Free and Premium.
  • The Free edit window. It’s set by the server, so the countdown and read-only state match on both.
  • Plan sections. The iPhone app’s Edit plan uses the web sidebar’s names and grouping: Essentials with a set count, Optional sections and Assumptions.

To bring a plan from another planner, see Import a plan from another planner.

Both offer the same read-only sample plan without signing in; any change asks you to sign in. The iPhone app also runs on iPad, with the plan switcher in a bar under the tabs, and supports Dynamic Type and VoiceOver.
